Situated at the top of Saints Bay Valley and approximately two and a half miles from St. Peter Port, the hotel is in an ideal position for a perfect holiday. It is within easy reach of the three most beautiful south coast bays of Moulin Huet, Petit Port and Saints. Here visitors to Guernsey can enjoy perfect bathing.

The gorse covered cliffs and sandy coves in the locality are a joy for the rambler, the bather and the fisherman. Ten minutes walk from the hotel is the Manor Riding School and St. Martins Tennis Club. The Royal Guernsey Golf Club is at L'Ancresse and is a typical links course, a good test for any golfer whatever his handicap. Many other sporting facilities are available in the island. Marine trips from St Peter Port operate daily to Herm (3 miles), Sark (9 miles), Jersey and the nearby coast of France. A frequent bus service stops outside the hotel and cars and cycles may be hired through Reception.

The island of Guernsey is situated in the middle of the Channel Islands some 70 miles south of the English coast and within sight of the French coast some 25 miles to the East. Guernsey combines the English and French way of living, taking some of the best from both and combining this with its own individual character.

It is the largest island in what is known as the Bailiwick of Guernsey, which also consists of Alderney, Herm and Sark, plus several smaller private islands. Guernsey is the seat of administration but Alderney has her own mini parliament and Sark - a feudal community, is run by an ancient court. The islands are steeped in history and display tremendous allegiance to the British monarchy. The main town and "capital" of Guernsey is St Peter Port which rises tier upon tier from the sea front and main harbour. It is extremely picturesque, with fine cobbled streets and a superb choice of excellent restaurants, cafe's and shops. The harbour itself is a haven for visiting yachts, and passenger services depart daily (during the season) to the neighbouring islands of Herm, Sark, and Jersey also to the English Mainland, and the coast of France. Many visitors just "while away" their time watching the activities within this beautiful harbour area, dominated by the ancient Castle Cornet at its entrance.

The island itself is divided into ten parishes each with its own Parish Hall and "Douzaine" Room. The Countryside is quite beautiful, particularly the magnificent cliffs and coastal scenery, where one can walk in peace amongst the wild gorse and enjoy the beautiful sea views, stretching as far as the French coast.
